CNTRVSY (operated by CNTRVSY, a sole proprietor) provides an interactive
discussion-and-debate service delivered over SMS text messaging. This page
describes how users consent to receive messages, what messages they will
receive, and how their information is handled.
1. How You Opt In (Consent)
Program name: CNTRVSY Opt-in method: Mobile / QR code — user-initiated text message
Users join the CNTRVSY messaging program through a fully user-initiated flow:
A user scans a CNTRVSY QR code or taps a CNTRVSY mobile link.
This opens their phone's native Messages app with the CNTRVSY
number pre-filled.
The user sends a text message to the CNTRVSY number to begin
participating (for example, sending START or a
reply to a specific discussion).
CNTRVSY replies with a one-time confirmation message that states the
program name, message frequency, that message and data rates may apply,
and how to get help or stop.
By sending that first message, the user consents to receive automated
SMS replies from CNTRVSY related to the discussions they participate in.
Consent is never bought, sold, shared, or transferred to third parties for
the purpose of sending messages. Each user opts in individually from their
own device.
To deliver the discussion/debate replies you request.
To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
To respond to HELP requests and honor STOP requests.

We do not sell or share your phone number or message content with
third parties for marketing. Data may be processed by our messaging

are not shared with any third parties.
